    We have one of these, we got a thicker 1" stone and it maintains a more even temperature, and doesn't fluctuate with the fire as much.

    Might be a foolish question but where does the pizza go? I only see a dome oven with a fire inside, like a fireplace. Obviously there is a rack or some other means of placing the food inside

    Did you use any tools to remove the pump from the old heating element? Or just your hands? It looks like it is tightly fitted together !

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos 2 місяці тому

      Yes it was tightly fitted together, if I remember correctly I used a flat screwdriver and some grips. Then done grease when I connected it back together

    Are the gaps not by design? I think that by just adding insulation like that you are going to get condensation, damp and then mould.

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos 2 місяці тому

      Yes fair comment and I have seen videos where builders have said the same thing. There is still a gap between both layers of insulation. This has been up for over two years now and no damp or mould yet. Definitely something to consider and thanks for sharing.

    next time take the glass out before you start as it will make positioning the frame far easier, the glass weighs a lot and the frame is quite light.

    Can I ask why expanding foam for the gaps? The instructions that I've seen say silicon sealant should be used. Thanks

    • @SimpleNickVideos

      I used a mixture of both but mainly silicon sealant. Basically I used all the stuff I had lying around rather than spending more money.

    Hi Nick, really enjoyed watching your videos on the Titania office build, I’m just about to purchase the 5.5x3.5 version and I’d like to know if you think it’s worth adding in the extra insulation for the walls and floor and if so what thickness did you use?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for the feedback Neil. Now that’s a good question, I think if I was building another tomorrow I probably wouldn’t. Mainly because it comes with insulation and the price of insulation I put in has gone up a lot. I went for 50mm thickness. We have a small air conditioner/ heat pump, which heats and cools the room very quickly.

  • @robertthejack
    @robertthejack 3 місяці тому

    What is the cost of the building?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos 3 місяці тому

      Check the Dunster website for latest prices. I probably wouldn’t go with the extra insulation, so the price on the website would be the price you pay

    What I find hard to understand, are the original hinges faulty? If not that means the were installed incorrectly. If I replace with same hinges it will be the same? Here's the problem how can I tell the new hinges are going to cure the problem? Where would you get new hinges from?

    Hi Nick, All this looks great! The videos are extremely helpful and reassuring. And we are about to order one of those garden offices (Marcus at DunsterHouse recommended your videos). I am thinking of adding the insulation like you have (and a heat-pump!) . My worry is not about the damp inside the room, but keeping the internal timbers well ventillated in out Cumbrian wet weather. Any experience/suggestions? Comments a year later? 🙂 Also, you say you used 50mm Kingspan type insulation. Do you remember the gap size? Many thanks again W.

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos 8 місяців тому

      I think the gap size was about 1 cm, enough space to run wiring. So we have had the office up for about 1 1/2 years now and not had any damp issues.

    Best thing to use is the stuff they use for jointing on kilns. I cant remember what its called but it WILL last, fire cement won't. Sealed cracks with both.
